Espeon is a very solid screen setter, and cleric. It can even sweep if it could get one or two calm minds out.

Umbreon is an excellent tank, curse + rest + sleep talk + payback is very decent, but you should stick to using it as a wall or cleric.

Sylveon, as much as I dislike it, is very good. An amazing wallbreaker and wall under the right conditions.

Fianaly, jolteon is very good, its an amazing pivot and can help you in many situations.

The rest range from meh to shit. Vaporeon is the best of the rest, but she's severely outclassed by things like alomomola which is a whole tier below it. It just doesn't fare too well nowadays. Glaceon has some decent stats, but a shitty typing and movepool kill it. Finally, leafeon and flareon have bad stat distribution and a bad movepool. They're sadly always outclassed

I haven't played pokemon in a long time so I forget

I'm trying to raise my eevee to become an umbreon and I wanted it to learn confuse ray.
In gen IV, it learns it at 29 but I didn't get my eevee's happiness high enough and now it's level 32. Did I fuck myself over or can it still learn confuse ray?

Espeon has Magic Bounce and great sweeping potential
Umbreon can stall like crazy with Wish and Toxic
Vaporeon is good for rain-based teams and generally fills similar roles as Umbreon
I heard Sylveon is pretty good but I never used one

Leafeon beats Flareon and Glaceon. Leafeon was NU, while Flareon and Glaceon were PU. Leafeon is still used often and is one of the best in PU. Glaceon and Flareon are near useless, even without Smogon.

whats the usual umbreon build? i been replaying black 2 and my EV trained umbreon has been running moonlight, toxic, protect, and payback

i have a vaporeon too, running ice beam, scald (should probably go waterpump?), quick attack and shadow ball, though quick attack is going to be replaced

Vaporeon is decent but not in gen VI. Outclassed by nearly every bulky water there is. A jack of all trades is a master of none.
Jolteon is a good Specs user in RU. Cant be Thunder Waved but outclassed by Mega Manectrics in every regard
Leafeon can dent stuff with SD and can BP those boosts to anything else but otherwise it's not good.
Flareon can hit something once with Flare Blitz and then die. Like a poor man's Staraptor
Umbreon is a fantastic tank, cleric, and status absorber. Just play it properly. Don't be like me when I first started competitive, I thought mine was invincible and kept it in on a fucking Terrakion lol.
Espeon is kinda gimmicky but it works well as a Choice user or a CMSub passer that can't be phazed. It has the benefit of preventing hazards but it is pretty much outclassed by Mega Diancie
Sylveon is definitely the best of them, it can run cleric better than Umbreon but lately it's been wreaking havoc with Specs in UU.

In terms of Doubles, nothing beats specs Hyper Voice. Sylveon is king.

It has a higher base HP stat so that more HP can be passed along. It also has a slightly higher base defense for physical attackers.

Now, admittedly Alomamola's Spd and Spa are pure garbage...but you're mostly only using it for the scald/burn chance. It also gets access to knock off, making it a great wall/ wish passer/ utility mon. Also, lest we forget, Regenerator with a 165 base HP is just nearly broken tier recovery.

Vaporeon has its uses. Base 110 Spa and base 95 Spd is solid. It gives scald a little more "Umph" which can make a difference. Water Absorb is not bad, albeit quite situational. And heal bell is a great utility move that Alomamola just doesn't get. ...it gets refresh...but that ain't healing anybody else on the team.

The main appeal of Luvdisc 2.0 over Vaporeon IS the abilities. When Alomamola wish passes, it not only passes more HP, but it GAINS HP upon swapping. Meaning it can potentially wish pass WAY more times than vaporeon.

The last thing heart-fart has going for it, is the ability to synergize better with teams. Obviously not by type, but by defensive utility. You ever go up against a defensive Regenerator Core? It's the most annoying shit to play against. 1/3 HP gain on swap...on multiple mons...who's goal are to out stall you. It's amazing. Vaporeon just can't compete with that.
