Nintendo giving him a C&D is an excuse he made up for writing that shitty sequel.

In reality he simply made a bad story that failed to follow the themes of the first. Rather than simply take credit for what is seen near unanimously as a disappointing sequel, he tries to shield himself by saying Nintendo stopped him.

This is why he still has Pokemon in part 2 present, this is why there is a Pokemon on the cover of part 2, this is why he still uses the likiness of the human characters, because the C&D never happened.

If the C&D was legit, other artist would've gotten it at that year's CC as well yet there were still various Pokemon doujins released at the event.
