After looking through the page some more, I see a fighting baguette, a guy in a chicken suit, a car, and retools of the grandma/grandpa YoKai. I think the only good one in there is maybe the graffiti lizard because it kind of gives me Scraggy/Scrafty vibes. No, there's just a lot of them. Jibanyan and the other Gen 1 nyans, gem nyans, fruit nyans, boss nyans... they're basically YW's pikaclones and there's about another 7 added every generation.

I'm not a dub/sub fag. I usually don't care. but Yokai watch is probably the one thing I don't feel comfortable watching dubs of strictly because of the Localization changes.

Making a series that is centered in japan, with japanese folklore, and trying to modernize its culture and make it Hot dogs, and Halloween over Takoyaki and Golden week is just plain ridiculous. Theres nothing wrong with giving kids a little culture outside what they know.

The problem is if it continues to sell in America, they'll dead end themselves, Yokai Watch season 3's entire theme is they go to america to find the producer of the yokai watch and get an upgrade. Which involves all new "American stereotyped" Yokai variants, which won't make any sense in reverse.

Its 4kids level dumb.

I like my father, Grew up on 70's-80's spy flicks. I absolutely adore Evil genius villains, and Despicable me was one of my favorite movies to come out that year just because of how much Gru embodied the "Evil; Genius" stereotype. He was literally Blofeld but with a family complex, and it was fucking great.
