true. but i wanted him to become a cooler and sleek looking fire panther. i like the idea of your cute starter pokemon becoming battle hardened as your character grows and eventually becoming a big tough monster. the starter pokemon's evolutionary path is basically a character arc for you and it sets the narrative's pacing as well.
