I have played a few good ones.
If you want a classic game with a new and better feel play I would recommend Blaze Black / Volt White (1 and 2), Sacred Gold, Fire Red Omega.
For a new region and new story I would recommend Gaia or Victory Fire.

i like touhoumon world link
it's a hack of emerald, and it replaces all the pokemon and music with touhou stuff
and after you beat the elite four you get to go to kanto and a new original region and the game gets super hard
