Nearly all dialogue and text are "translated" and subbed, barring the OP, ED, Pokemon card info in the pokemon quiz (which are apparently hard subbed), and the entirety of Oak's advertisement of the Magearna I'm tired.

The first match agaisnt Viola and the Korrina's battle had some really good cuts that are nearly on par with Iwane's gym battles. Actually the way Fletchinder was animated in Korrina's gym was waaaaay better than Iwane's style when it comes to birds.

Also the dynamic camera angles were as good as Asada.

I've literally been watching the dub to kill time and I'm up to the first tripokalon. I've been enjoying mostly every episode, but seeing them ruin "motto motto" to THIS degree really made me lose my respect

The last saga I watched dub episodes for was DP. I admit I did like Dawn, Paul, Zoey and Barry's english voices. It felt like they were at least trying back then.

Kanto/Orange are hard to rank because even though the battles are mostly bad, its still fun to watch for comedy/adventure reasons.

Also Team Rocket was at their best back then and not annoying and Misty/Brock were in their prime. All the OS characters really suffer character derailment by the time you get into mid-Johto and onward.

I honestly don't know enough to rank XY, but

I'll say XY is slighty better than DPP. DPP has Paul and is more centered in Ash Pokemon than XY. Yet XY has way less fillers episodes, and better companions.

They are equal but I choose XY because practically almost all episodes matter (there are still some exceptions like the Quiladin in love episode, anyways)

Tempering my expectations, that clash between Salamence and Noivern looks pretty even so I could see a double K.O. Although it's also a reversal of the Noivern vs Metang battle where Noivern used the whole body attack (Acrobatics), clashed against Metang's claw attack (Metal Claw) and lost. If they go for pottery, Salamence would be the one losing here.
