I always plan out a team before I start any Pokemon game

Will never get the "every Gen 5 mon looks bad" meme, you can run into Purrloin on the first routes of the game and it's easily the cutest cat-mon in the series, both the common bugs are neat, and there's Blitzle and Drilbur before the 2nd gym

The story is the best story since RBY and mechanically it's decent, the real love seems to be for B2W2.

Some of the Pokemon are interesting, others are shit but they are varied enough that there's wide ranging opinions of which are which.

Sandile is on route 4, so after the third gym.
Venipede is back in Pinwheel Forest. You'll have to backtrack, but it's worth it.

My memory is lacking for the later mon distribution, but most of the good shit is beyond the halfway point.

Venipede is in Pinwheel forest, and Sandile is in route 4. Sandile is very samey as it evolves, but Venipede's evolutions change it a bit, and it's got a godly design (and it's actually pretty useful desu.)

Also pick up a Vanillite in Cold Storage when you get there, I didn't like that line at first, but it grows on you. Now I love it.

You can find Sigilyph/Yamask which are very strong tanks, Darumakka, strong hard hitter. If I'm not wrong theres a guy who can give you the fossil mon there. Theres alot more choices so please stop this shit meme

Most the good ones are fairly uncommon encounters.

I agee a lot of the pokemon in Gen V are ugly, I get so sick of seeing Watchhog, but there's some hidden gems.

If you want to make the game easy, catch a Drillbur as soon as possible. Once you evolve it you just steamroll the game.
