I always box it no matter what I pick. Even as a kid playing pokemon for the first time I ditched those pieces of shit as soon as I could.

Waterfag except gen 6, I picked Fennekin.

By average I choose water but I'm not inclined to any type, it's just that they're some of my more favorite designs.
Also I like bulkier pokemons and waters are the typical bulkmons.

I almost always pick water starters except in Gen 1 and my first playthrough of Gold and Heartgold, where I picked Cyndaquil. I also picked Chespin in my first Y playthrough and that turned out to be a mistake.

I'm mostly a fan of fire, but i can think of a few instances where I have chosen or used other starters. Gen 4 i started turtwig and gen 6 froakie. Other than that its all fire, but i love totodile line and all of the hoenn starters. I'll either go rowlett or litten gen 7.

That's just how it's worked to this point, but after installling Sun and starting it up, I'll be injecting a Turtwig or something. I refuse to use any of these horrible-looking things.

I picked water the first three gens, then grass the next three gens. Not on purpose, the pattern was just a coincidence. I'm not going to start picking fire now, currently Litten's my least favorite Gen 7 starter. But we'll see what happens.
