I don't really know, this is the order that the XY and SM pokemon have been revealed in. Swirlix was revealed early October, around 10 or days before launch. We're up to that point already and Sun and Moon aren't going to be releasing until November. We're either getting spoiled hard or there's a lot more pokemon this time around.

They revealed a bunch of megas at one point, I basically consider them "new pokemon" in terms of reveals/leaks, so SM still has a few more to go
