I've been scanning though, and I think it's a good thing honestly since the tracker is broken and it's gotten me to run around town far more than I would have without it.

Knowing that there's a rare pokemon on the other side of town and hustling over to get it before it disappears is a lot more fun than seeing a rare pokemon show up as 3 steps on the tracker and never finding it. Also leads to me going to places I wouldn't go otherwise like looping around just to find something or venturing into parts of town that I never visit.

I can agree that spoofing is bad though since it defeats the entire purpose of the game, which is to basically get up and walk around/explore.

Level 9 newb here, what's the fucking point of trying to evolve my Pokemon? I always power them up a shitload then evolve, but I'll find the base evolution at a way higher CP after leveling up once or twice.

Also do I get rarer mons at higher levels, or do I just get them at higher CPs?

I think actual direction and distance would make it too easy. With the steps, it made it more "challenging", for the lack of a better term, to track down a pokemon. The meta is a mistake. All Pokemon should have the same potential CP, beside maybe legendaries and event mon.

Let the real game have their "only viable Pokemon". In this dumb game about going around catching em all and tapping to fight, you should be able to go all the way with Pokemon you actually like. Not "weird, why doesn't this gym have a vaporeon?".

According to people who dug through the source code, the power of Pokemon hatched from eggs caps out at level 20. The power of Pokemon caught in the wild caps out at level 30.

This means eggs become pretty useless at the endgame. Which is a shame, because for many people it's the only way to have access to Pokemon that don't spawn in their region.
