dumb question, what does "nearly complete" mean on the dex nav, there's no more pokemon "silhuettes" on the screen

It means you haven't seen the Pokémon that are left at all I believe.

There's a type of Pokemon in that area that you haven't even seen yet.

More Pokemon appear in each area after you defeat the Elite Four and the Champion the first time. The crown will be diamond colored when you really complete an area.
