Someone posted the Risk-Taker ranges in a previous thread. I think it was 0.3x to 3x damage.

Then each skill multiplier multiplies both, so L4 makes the damage 0.6x to 6x.

I'm not aiming for S-ranks here since they will be gone anyway when events get switched. But as a matter of principle, if I beat the stage in half the required moves it should give me the S-rank.

I also beat Palkia on the first run with 16 moves remaining but failed twice when it actually dropped boosters and got an S-rank for it. Not going beyond skill level 2 though.

Do you not understand how the challenge works?
You have to:
1) Clear the initial clouds
2) Make matches of 3 at the start of combos to trigger a cloud disruption
3) Clear the disruptions as they come for as long as possible
4) Defeat Yveltal

The best way of doing that is clearing the first clouds with 2 matches of 3 M-Lucarios, then keep making matches of 3 with pokémon that have Cloud Clear, so that you trigger a new cloud as you clear the previous one.
You want to do that until you absolutely HAVE to switch to combo-making mode to defeat him, so the best course of action is to have the strongest possible super-effective pokémon that have Cloud Clear, so that you can delay the moment in which you have to focus on killing him.

Disruptions are the problem with Azelf. Unless you're swimming in coins you'll have to farm Meowth. Granted it's tedious to grind coins as well.

The only thing I can think to do is MAX Volbeat and Purlion. It's tedious to think about (again, grinding for grinding) but I can't think of an easier, itemless solution. Grind or grind to grind, those are your options, either those or reading the first letter of each sentence.

I have Volbeat at 10 anon and was only sometimes beating Azelf. I used him on Meowth before CC got cucked. Purrloin was level 1 I think so levelling it may have helped, but Azelf itemless is very hard. Since Purrloin is boosted by Sinister Power, your main goal should be to Mega Fast, Activate Sinister Power, try to not get fucked over by disruptions, in that order.

For someone who does not have Garachomp or Rayquaza, what is the best mega to use against mega Manectric? I was thinking possibly Gengar but I am not sure if Aero could be useful.

Azelf can be tricky at times and has just a bit too much HP IMO lol

But the setup I used to max its skill was Gengar/Darkrai/Zoroark(Lv. 13)/Volbeat

First 3 are maxed and Volbeat's like level 7ish. Try to get a vertically activated Sinister Power going (since that will allow other icons to fall more easily than a horizontal match).

Also try to get a lot of movement on the board before the row of blocks appears to prevent them from appearing then focus on getting lots of vertical matches near the bottom.

Even if you didn't activate Sinister Power right away, keep clearing icons until the board slows down; immediately drop the combo then reactivate it.

There were times I slightly messed up the pattern and just barely missed it, but those were kinda rare xD

I've beaten this stage with 22 seconds left. So, it does come down to luck just a little bit.

I like the intuitive stages (like the puzzles) since anyone can beat 'em and becomes just a bit more intelligent upon doing so~

I just went through them after Roserade and I didn't find it that challenging. Of course there are more than usual stages that require items to pass but even then only boss stages like m ray and mmx required stuff like full items. Of course I have a lot of high level and special stage mons since I took a long break from doing the main stages so newer players may find it harder however tough stages can be beaten quicker with clever choices of teams and especially items, doing a stage once or twice.should give you a feel for what is holding you back (eg slow mega evolution or too many disruptions ect) so you can choose the minimal items too complete the stage with.

Personally, I find it easier to use than MMY due to having a lower mega meter with Speedups plus not accidentally activating Swap. With Budew, you can easily get Mega Sceptile online in the first turn if the board is just right. Ideally, you want Gogoat over Cherubi, but the fucker doesn't want to stay in the ball and I refuse to use a Great Ball on it. Quirky+ really synergizes well with M-Sceptile's ability. But a M-Sceptile team is really inconsistent and you really have to know how the Hoenn Megas function to be able to get combos. Getting 10k coins (I'm sure I got more though due to Meowth capping at 10k) was all luck, I usually get anywhere between 4500-6000 on shitty runs and an average of 8000 on good ones.

But with only 25 new pokémon in every area instead of 50, they can introduce new main stages more frequently and avoid having so many dead weeks like we've been having lately. It's the same for the winking icons.

Honestly, I think they should just have made the main stage areas shorter again, like with 30 pokémon or so. As for having main stages that drop PSBs, they could just make them available for a limited time, changing every week like regular events.
