Digimon had the vastly superior anime. Seasons 1-4 (yes, I even love frontier) are super good for a formulaic kids show. 5 was mediocre and I didn't watch 6, things got too stupid.

I love Xros Wars. It is harder to get into- style-wise its very intentionally all over the place, and it throws a lot of conventions right out the window. I'd say Tamers AND Adventure are better, but its right on Adventure's tail.

Young Hunters has a lot of cool ideas but frustrating execution. More enjoyable than 02, but that's not syaing much.

Anyway, GameFreak will stop doing humanoid starters when they stop being popular with the kids.

And I would give my left nut for an Angemon-like Pokemon. I like the animal-like designs, but I am all for humanoid legendaries or pseudo-legendaries.

In all honesty that's why Xros and other things like V-Tamer were good, they didn't go by absolutes like that and even a champion could take down say a Mega with ease.
