OP here, I like that all in line like that. The round park I went to was about a 5 minute loop for walking which was nice for pokéstops. My extended bag was full after about 30 minutes there including around 115 pokeballs, 30 great balls and a shit ton of potions and razzberries.

This park also had, no joke, about 300 people. So the round park was nice for flow of traffic.

Houston Zoo. 25+ stops. Planning to go at a later date when I won't die of heat stroke.

Spent the last week sitting under lures pretty much exclusively at 1 park in 1 spot. Level 25 now and I'm just realizing how much fun I'm not having.

There's a cafe I've met friends at probably 12 times in two weeks. Three stops all reachable from any spot in the cafe, seating is big comfy couches and chairs, all three poke stops are constantly being lure moduled by rich daddy's money college kids, and there's free wifi and outlets to charge your phone. It's the American dream.

All stops are on sidewalks and it's an area prohibited for dogs which keeps the two Pokestop hill clean of shit.

Winter Park, FL here, there's a small lake close to where I work that's ruined with stops and a gym. One lap is enough time for the first stop to refresh. I plan on going for a walk a few hours before my shift.

I just started playing pokemon go casually. I'm level 14. Can someone explain to me the way the gyms work?

For example I have a vaporeon (129 health) that is cp 958 with watergun (10 damage) and waterpulse (30 damage). I also have a gloom that is (37 health) cp 202 with acid (10 damage) and moonblast (60 damage).

Which one should I focus on leveling up? Obviously i have been on the vaporeon, but the gloom has a better attack.

My question is which would be better to use at a gym? I understand that if you win you get to leave a pokemon there right?

I just don't want to go and get my ass handed to me because I don't know how it works. The last pokemon game I played was red/blue when I was a kid, do the gyms work the same in pokemon go? How do you battle/trade other pokemon go players (like we used to with the link cable)?

What team should i join? I was thinking team mystic because I align with the 'mission statement'.

Look at a couple things.

One, if you catch like a 200~ creature and you see that there is lots of space left on the meter, then you know they can power up a lot more. If there is not much space left on the meter to power up, then yoi know it's lame. 200 isn't a real example, just giving you the idea.

Also, look at each creatures attacks. Lets say you have two Ghastlies. Their attacks and special attacks may not be the same. Invest in the ones that have the best attacks and transfer the others for candy.

Both have a load of Pokestops in a small area (Brown's Isle has a spot where three overlap, too). Both get enough people playing to spawn rare-ish mons. When they're not spawning rares, Brown's Isle tends to spawn water Pokemon plus Clefairies and Eevees, and Monroe Park tends to spawn Doduos.

I usually teleport to another country when I wake up in the morning (6+ hours is enough to go nearly anywhere) with. No problem.
I spoofed into Tokyo today once I heard the game was released and there were plenty of +20 level players so most of the japs had obviously been spoofing for a long time anyway. unless they want to ban most of Japan I don't think any permabans are going to happen.

If anyone's in the 585 area, you probably already know about the seabreeze spot. RIT and U of R are great for farming pokestops, North Ponds Park in Webster has 8 poke stops and 3 gyms along the trail, and people have found Dragonites at Highland Park. There's a PoGo Bar Crawl tonight in the city too.
