I just got to the Tengu village and I have no idea what the fuck to do now. Please send help. Also Extra Marisa is ridiculously strong, god damn. Her and Extra Eiki are monsters.
Did the expansion get translated yet?
>>27268366
The stuff important to battle did, the story did not.
>>27268366
Interface only at the moment.
If the entire thing was translated, I probably wouldn't be so lost right now.
>>27268375
>The stuff important to battle did
That's not entirely accurate.
Ability/Skill/Item descriptions, most names, and basic in-battle text has been translated.
Dialogue (including dialogue options), some names, and uncommon battle text (anything related to specific abilities, mostly) have not been.
raiko anon ;_;
>>27268137
if you haven't already found where to go yet, you need to interact with some bushes in the southwest corner of the village
>>27270491
Found it a while back, but thanks anon.
>>27268137
Try Extra Konngara with a focus attacking moveset and Air Cushion. She almost singlehandedly won me many Battle Frontier matches just because she hit like a freight train with Purgatory Flicker/Shadow Bomb and refused to die.
Out of the two original bosses Extra Sariel has gotten a lot more buzz, but Extra Konngara does not fuck around as a tank.
Does anyone else here miss the old game's philosophy of having plenty of meaningless side areas? It feels like most side areas are now
>Story relevant areas that you're forced to go to
or
>Locked off now until you get farther
It's kind of annoying in a way.Although, at least there are some side areas (some of which are new) that aren't required, and can be visited early for fun/experience, like Road of Liminality and Southern Forest of Magic.
So who gets the Extra style? I was under the assumption everyone did but I saw a few lacking it on the wiki.
>>27270724
Everyone does. You must have overlooked their extra if you didn't see it.
Did you click on SoD?
How viable is Power Yukari in singleplayer? I kind of want to run her for kicks and giggles.
>>27270677
Really? Apart from Byakuren's temple being a mandatory visit earlier in the game, it doesn't seem like much has changed for the sidepaths, and many of the new side-areas likethe Lunar Capital, Hell, and the Sanzu Riverare also completely optional. It feels a bit better than the base game, where the only major detour was the Southern Forest of Magic and everything else was just a few steps away from the main path, if that.
Is there something I'm missing that Hemo changed?
>>27270894
I dunno, I guess I'm just feeling a bit pensive overthe gap map now being a mandatory item. It was hilarious seeing people miss it.
>>27270892
Not very. Fights will typically end before her Placid effect wears off, and the new AI switches way too much to keep her in safely.
I remember an anon a few months ago that did it just for shits and giggles, but there are far better options.
>>27270934
I still have no idea how the fuck people missed the gap map. It's ridiculously easy to find even when playing blind.
>>27270746
Apparently I didn't click the tab. Probably didn't notice it because the ones I looked at before were newly added.
So sorry for the trouble, I was just half blind, half dumb.
Patiently awaiting full translation.
>>27268137
Is there a pastebin for downloads or something? I forget how much I missed.

I figured as much. I think it would be fun to run her, but I'm not even sure who I would drop for her, if I did so.

>I still have no idea how the fuck people missed the gap map. It's ridiculously easy to find even when playing blind.

r-right?
>>27268137
So do you need to like//know tohou to enjoy it?
>>27271856
Not at all, you'll probably look up some touhous though if you get into the game or at least the abilities and typing.
Just pick whatever you find to be the best/prettiest/cutest as your starter.
>>27271856
It helps, but you don't really need to, and the game can work as a sort of introduction to the universe (as long as you keep in mind that many characters are either exaggerated or just plain misrepresented for the sake of story.)
There was a guy who used to come to these threads who had no interest in Touhou at all, who ended up finding awaifu.
That aside, if you really enjoy the Pokemon mechanics, but always felt that they needed improvement (the ability to see IVs, relearning moves without a move tutor, consumable hold items coming back after the battle ends, HMs now being items rather than moves that take up slots, I could go on.) then this game might be for you. I would just suggest playing the vanilla game over the expansion, as that has a full translation.
And since you can choose literally any puppet in the game as your starter, just do as >>27271872 says and pick whichever one appeals to you. Most puppets in the game are at least somewhat viable (with one notable exception of Renko.)
How late do some of the newer puppets start appearing in the wild? I'm considering picking Sagume as my starter instead of my favorite simply because I know my favorite is relatively early but I'm unsure how late Sagume is.
>>27272696
All the LoLK puppets can be captured before Misty Lake, though they are in a hidden area.
Just pick your favorite. Assuming your playing the expansion, your starter has an exclusive item that boosts all its stats, so picking your favorite is always a good choice.
which puppet is objectively the cutest?
>>27271915
RenkoE isn't actually that bad though, she's basically a Light/Void Shuckle. Kosuzu is probably the hardest puppet to work with now in all 3 styles, even her Extra style is pretty shit and effectively sacrifices her held item for a single good stat + a good ability.
>>27274518
Not my favorite but I found Hatate the cutest as far as sprites go.
What happened to the last thread?
>>27275933

>>27275957
I checked and it was pushed to page 10 by the stream of threads about the new pokemans, at least it wasn't deleted.
Hnnng
I want to restart and remake my team so bad after not playing since before the expansion but I can't bear to play without knowing what's going on.
I read you can import your old saves to reincarnate your base game puppets. How does all that work?
>>27277284
>>27277380
As I explained in the previous thread, due to how starting a new game works you may want to consider playing anyways.
Immediately as you start a new game, you're asked if you want to inherit data from your pre-expansion save, and if you say yes (first option) you will get all of your old puppets back after you defeat the final boss of the postgame, in boxes 21-51 (you don't have access to these boxes before then).
After this happens, you can also start a New Game+ by selecting the New Game option again. This will take the data from your Shard of Dreams save file rather than the base game, and will allow you to have access to the following puppets at the beginning of the game, reset to level 5:
>All 6 puppets in your current party
>Your old starter
>Your new starter, if you select one (this slot is wiped by your old starter if you don't select a new one)
Up to a maximum of 8 puppets at the beginning of the game. Your items and money are not carried over, and any puppets stored anywhere other than your party or boxes 21-51 are wiped, so make sure you move everyone you want to keep before you start a new game.
In other words, if you don't mind doing two separate playthroughs you can start the expansion now and get a feel for all of the new styles, then start a NG+ after the full translation comes out and play through the game again with a premade party, without losing your progress.
These threads have been going on for quite a while now and I must ask, what exactly does this have to do with Pokemon? For what reason are you posting this on the Pokemon board?
>>27278840
Because 2hufags on /v/ panic and start shitposting heavily whenever this game is brought up, while /jp/ doesn't give a fuck about this game. Seeing as how it's a Pokemonclone that started life as a literal Pokemon fanhack, this is really the only board where it can be discussed.
>>27278840
it's a touhou fangame that's pokemon but with 2hus
>>27278840
Hacks of pokemon games are allowed and the original touhoumon was a hack of fire red.
>>27268137
>Extra Eiki
What's so good about her? Invalidation is nice, as is Known Limits if it halves damage, but her movepool seems fairly shallow even if she does get Dense Barrage (essentially Boomburst) and Warp-type Psyshock.
>>27281271
Invalidation, really good bulk, alright power, a beefy wish for party recovery. I'm sure she isn't that great in competitive play, but at least in the singleplayer she feels really powerful.
>>27280506
what a lewd fairy
>>27268137
Is trick room a thing in this game?
I don't want my Yuuka to be useless
>>27282814
Yes, and it's a terrain called Genbu.
Yuuka's perfectly useful without relying on it, though. It's not as if she can't take a hit.
>>27282814
There is also a terrain that turns healing into damage.
I was playing through SoD picking ones I liked and different from the party I used in the base game (except Remilia, Remi is bae)

>>27278840
The game plays much like Pokemon, due to them being based on a Fire Red hack. I believe it was decided that between /jp/, /v/ and /vp/, it'd go to /vp/ due to its origins.
>>27284969
/JP/ didn't care and threads keep dying

Do you ever find a way to go up waterfalls or nah? I've gone through the entire base game and a good chunk of SoD and I have yet to find a way to traverse them
>>27286213
Nope, there isn't, which I believe makes the tall grass in the Kappa Village completely inaccessible. Everywhere else, you can simply "traverse" waterfalls by walking up slopes and getting to the top, or gap to a point above the waterfall and walk back down.
What does Dream Shard do?
>>27285903
>Shinki created the puppets cuz Alice didn't want to be "mommy's little girl" anymore.

Boost all stats but HP by 25%, there is a even more powerful version called dream crystal that boost stats by 50%.
Both items are banned in online

Breaks the game
So how in the nine hells do you build LunasaE? Choice items? Drain Seed staller with Thorned Ivy? Moon's Protection + Backup Plan supporter with Aromatherapy? Gold/Silver Hairpin + 4 attacks? 2 attacks + Creeping Darkness and First Aid? She has an utterly massive movepool and just the right stats to make use of all of them.
YatsuhashiD seems to give her very tough competition in most defensive roles. But then again LunasaE is faster and has Projection to royally screw over SukunaD and a few other popular puppets, so I want to make her work.
FUCKING CAVES
Im stuck on Youkai Mountain after I beat Aya in Tengu Village, I also don't have a map yet so I don't know what to do.
>>27290259Check the bushes.
>>27289113
LunasaE strikes me as a jack of all trades, master of none. She can be mediocre at many things, but she's not going to be impressing anyone in any field.
>>27290259
You do realize that was literally the OP question, right?Read the fucking thread.
FUCK CAVES
>>27291022
Honestly, the caves in this game aren't even that bad. Most of them are very straight forward, with most alternate paths ending shortly. The only two exceptions are Scarlet Mansion, Remains of Blazing Hell (which are both legit bullshit, I'll give you that) and Hakurai Mountain's cave (which, basically being the game's version ofVictory Roadis only fitting)
But really, it's your fault for not buying enough repels.
What's a puppet that can quickly solo the game? I just played through the base game fairly recently. I want to briefly familiarize myself with the expansion until the full translation comes out and I need a finished save file for multiplayer.
>>27291116
That's tough to say. The combo of starting with Chen and catching a Keine to cover your weaknesses used to be the optimal speedrunning strat, but with Warped being a thing I don't think that'll work anymore.
I'll look through the puppets and see if anything sticks out to me, but general rule of thumb is that you want a puppet with low cost, as low cost = faster leveling. And you probably won't be able to solo the game with just one puppet, so expect to catch at least one other one. Hell, you may as well capture an entire team, exp leaking means that they'll all get exp anyway, and if they all have low cost then they should be able to keep up without battling at all.
>>27291116
I seem to recall an anon months back having a good deal of success with a solo run using MikoS, at least in the base game. She's decently fast and gets Up Tempo for longer fights, hits hard, and is respectably durable - especially with the Dream Shard.
KurumiE may be worth looking into as a faster-leveling, lower-cost alternative that hits even harder than Extra Miko in many circumstances but she's incredibly squishy on the spread end.
>>27291189
Speed Miko is a decent choice, but the fact that it's so high cost will probably slow him down a bit. He'll have to end up facing every trainer just to keep up, some of which he could potentially skip if he had a lower cost puppet.
The reason Assist Chen was so good at speeding through the game was a combination of having few weaknesses, a great offensive ability, godly type coverage, and leveling quickly. Even now it might be anon's best option, but warp confuses things a little bit in that regard.
why are the 2hu remixes in this game so GOOD?
which touhoumon hack is best
>>27293230
Because touhou music is good by default.
tfw you beat e3 and shinki in first try
tfw you beat mima after with your 70-80 lvl pupers
tfw the only difficutly was vs seiga because i had grass starter
tfw the content of expansion is literaly like 10 minutes with 3-4 fightable npcs in area
how does TPDP compare to the GBA hacks?
>>27293811
it's better
cuter sprites, better balance, some moves and abilities from newer gen pokemon games, more unique stuff, and it takes place in gensokyo rather than just kanto
also you can pick literally any character as your starter
>>27293811
>Comparing a hack to game done from scratch.
Am I meant to play the base game first or does the expansion include all base game content?
I already have both installed
>>27294519
content-wise, the expansion has everything the base game does and more, but unlike the base game, the expansion doesn't have a translated story, so you might have trouble figuring out where you're supposed to go
I made the registry file for the base game, made sure the InstallPath is correct, and the expansion still refuses to launch

In spite of his avatarfagging he was consistently one of the best posters in the TPDP threads. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss him, though there are a million and one reasons someone would stop posting here.
He did have a tendency of overhyping the fuck out of random puppets that turned out to be total nonissues, though. Remember his writeup about WakasagiE? #75 in usage this week and #76 overall, for instance. He may have stopped playing and given up because the only Raiko style that appears in the top 200 most used puppets is Power Raiko, at #117.

Is this game really as balanced as people say? I've had friends recommend it to me and one of the reasons they'd often cite was that it was really well balanced competitively. Naturally, I'm a little skeptic given how Pokemon practically thrives on tiers and the idea that the rare guys are stronk.
>>27308754
Probably only a few more months. The initial stage of the translation only came out recently due to the constant patches ingame and some members not being able to participate due to concerns in real life.
>>27308796
Take a look for yourself. This is the puppet usage statistics for netplay in Japan. http://www.gensou-suwako.com/correct/data_append_v10/URViewer/URrank.php
In the total usage stats, only 2 puppets have more than 10% usage and 13 have more than 5%. Compare this to Pokemon, where there are a decent few Pokemon with over 20% usage and Landorus-T consistently has over 30% usage - and that's AFTER things have been banned to Ubers for balance.
I've done some lengthy writeups about the state of balance in TPDP versus Pokemon in the past, but if there's still interest I might write up a new one with more recent statistics in it.

>FAVOURITE ''''''''''''''''''''''''PUPPETS'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
How well would a nuzlocke run with this go?
>>27309193
It's doable, but would require some knowledge of the game to really work. Going in blind is just asking for a wipe, and you would miss out on potential puppetsin the form of hidden puppets that can be found in village areas, something you'll almost always miss your first run, and something you would really need for a Nuzlocke.
Your best bet it to start with a Steel puppet, since that'll carry you through enough of early game for you to capture a solid team.
Hell, you do have one major advantage over normal Pokemon Nuzlockes, and that's the fact that even if you get duplicates, you can run them in different styles to diversify your team.
How do you make a pokemon clone with touhou when there's not even as many touhous as first gen pokemon?
Did the dev have to come up with OC touhou?
>>27309862
every 2hu has different "styles" with different stats, types, abilities, and movesets
>>27309862
>>27309929
Also there's actually more than 151 Touhou characters, not less.
>>27309862
They use a system called styles to allow each touhou to have several forms which they can choose from ala branched evolutions. These vary in stats and sometimes type, so 1 touhou usually gives you 3-5 mons overall (The base form and 2-4 styles/evolutions).
Times over 100 touhous and we have plenty to go around.

Giant Catfish is very cute!
I decided to go with Jinyou as a starter this run, and can't figure out whether to go JinyouA or JinyouE. JinyouA's heavy spread defense and Nether/Illusion typing doesn't seem quite as good as JinyouE's more balanced defenses and Warp/Sound typing for the ingame campaign, but JinyouA is one of the best Curse Return users in the game and gets reliable recovery plus good type coverage, unlike Mima. On the other hand, JinyouE has access to Curiosity + Foresee for screwing over sweepers along with decent defenses, but has a barely passable focus attack stat and can't abuse Foresee against focus attacks at all for that reason.
I know he's probably not the best choice for starter but damn it I want to use him when I begin instead of waiting until after I beat Reimu. What to do?

Pokemon GO has Pokemon, and what is /vp/ called? Oh? Is it considered the "pokemon board?" And what does Pokemon GO have in it's name? What? Is it "pokemon?" And what does Pokemon GO contain, exactly? Huh? "Pokemon" you say?
Now what does TPDP have? Huh? "Touhou?" But I thought that this was the "pokemon board", meant for discussion of "pokemon". I do not see why this "touhou" would have a place in the "pokemon board" that many users seem to roam in. Maybe the strange place known as the "otaku culture" board would be more fitting?

Its gameplay is based around Pokemon, and it keeps itself contained in its thread without leaking to other threads on the board. If the mods gave a shit it'd have been deleted by now, and if most users gave a shit it'd have been flooded with spam by now. Clearly its just you and 1 or 2 others that are autistic enough to get mad about it.
>>27317316
I'm mainly writing these replies to spite people like you.
>>27317277
>What do you think of Moemon?
Still uses Pokemon names to refer to the characters, it just puts the game under a loli-tinted lens.
>>27317342
>Its gameplay is based around Pokemon.
See >>27317211, just because it's gameplay is based around Pokemon that doesn't make it /vp/-appropriate.
>>27317277
And yet they share the same mechanics as Pokemon. Your shitty """""pokemon game""""" has none of those things that make Clover and Moemon relevant to /vp/. It has its own engine, it's own mechanics, and none of the elements that make a Pokemon game. You're just using /vp/ as your personal vessel for off-topic discussion, much like what the average retard does on /v/.
>>27317342
How about Digimon threads? Clearly it's relevant to Pokemon since it shares the same ideas, right? How about Fossil Fighters or Medabots? I guess Jojo is /vp/ material now since you fight with stands, much like you fight with Pokemon?
Do you see how flawed your logic is now? Do you see why Toushit Puppet Dicks Whatever has no place here? This board is strictly for Pokemon, and although the mods don't give a shit about what happens here (and yes, if you're that much of a newfag scumbag, I should inform you that there is little moderation here) this thread is still off topic regardless of how much you want to say "oh oh but it's INSPIRED by pokemon" because it's not fucking Pokemon.
Go to >>>/jp/ and I'll hope that I do not need to counter your severely impared logic again.
>>27317695
>Go posters are this buttblasted that their memethread got knocked off the catalog
It simply can't be helped.
On-topic, with Warped-type now existing what are the best types, offensively or defensively? I know that Light was considered the best defensive type and I think it still is, unless Poison has surpassed it.
>>27317889
Where's your argument in this post?
>>27317889
Sound is good at attacking now that Wind got nerfed and it's SE against Warp
Steel and Illusion seemed really good but got nerfed by Warp, same with Wind
Not really sure about defense though, Sound might be good too, but I don't know if it's near Light
I haven't tried Warped enough to say much about it
>>27317889
Poison is top-tier now that Wind types can be countered and thus fell from favour.
Poison is, in turn, SE on Warped too, so it got an offensive boost, too!
All you had to do was ignore the post, but ypou had to reply to him.

Now do the postgame rematch
I remember playing this game back near the end of last year, but for whatever reason I never finished it.
Loading up my old save, I'm on Route 8 right in front of a cave, with this team.
How close am I to the ending? Is it worth finishing the file before starting a new one with the expansion?
>>27321520
you're close-ish to the end
cave, garden of the sun, backtracking to myouren temple, then the last area, hakurei mountain cave

>>27325241

>>27325408

>>27326641
never mind, disregard this post
Should I have a team of optimized puppets before facing mugetsu/Gengetsu?
Should I re-incarnate them or just grind the ones I sealed through the main game to 90+?
>>27326962
Just grind them up. The extra stats are nice but it's not worth going through 90 more level-ups for your main party to get slightly easier access to your old puppets.
>Konngara used Purgatory Flicker!
>Enemy Kokoro used Merry Dance!
>Enemy Kokoro's FoDef rose!
>Enemy Kokoro's SpDef rose!
>Moody
>Enemy Kokoro's Evasion sharply rose!
>Enemy Kokoro's SpAtk fell!
>Konngara used Purgatory Flicker!
>The attack missed!
>Enemy Kokoro used Grace of Mana!
>Moody
>Enemy Kokoro's FoDef sharply rose!
>Enemy Kokoro's Speed fell!
Just end it already.Fuck you Yumeko
>>27302668
Anyone interested today perhaps?
When Good Management says that stat changes from held items are doubled, what exactly does that cover? Just items that actually give the "stat increased" message in battle, or passive boosts such as from choice items as well?
>>27329755
>not running moody Kokoro
is there something like protect in the game?
>>27330134
Sure. But Moody strats fall apart instantly when you realize that you can just use one of the many strats that negate stat boosting.
>Makai Elites are now level 90 after you beat the game
what the fuck is this I can't grind them now?
>>27330798
The Fairy Tower in Hell is the new hot grinding spot, get with the times grandpa.
>>27330884
How do I access it?
>>27331419
After beating Shinki for the first time, this locked house by the Sanzu River becomes unlocked. Just enter it and make sure you have a unit of Eirin's cutting-edge fringe medicine on you. Keep in mind that before you can grind proper you have to scale the tower and fight Clownpiece.
>tfw you found the cheat engine address for rare candies
hehehehehe fuk dis shit
>>27330485
Without Sagume in the expansion moody is very strong actually.
>>27331958
Not really. I mean I wrecked someone once with Moody but that was just because he ran a gimmicky all stall team kek. Topsy Turvy or Wisdom Eye will completely wreck Moody stall.
>>27332005
did you sleep well?
>>27332128
Wisdom eye is in many puppets who have the other ability far superior and the only of them who are kind of dangerous are Mamizou or Patchy, who you'll most likely outspeed into a change skill, while phase inversion deals no damage so you're simply losing a move to force a switch sometimes, which is quite unreliable.
So I have 8 books and I beat Hakugyokurou. But the Puppet Liberation fight rematches aren't happening? Do I need to beat Heaven to trigger this?
>>27332560
Wahhhhh I'm stuck. ;_;
I beat Heaven and Hakugyo and I don't know how to trigger the Puppet Liberation rematches.
>>27332909
Did you defeat the level 99 Lily in Hakugyokurou?
lol
>>27333364
yes and I have the 8th book
>>27333383

>>27332289

>Not a great thing

I had a laugh, anon.
You also forgot that almost all Moody users are trash in terms of stat spread.
how do I make my team
do I pick my favorite looking touhous?
do I pick the strongest ones?
do I make an autistic meta team?
help
>>27334104
It's not run in pokemon for plenty of reasons, Malamar has stronger options and so do most puppets. Not to mention how risky it is, best case scenario, you hit it and your opponent does a weak attack, but if they may do so much should they expect the move, such as changeling/lightning speed effectively wasting your turn, using a status effect that prevents it or simply gives them back some advantages like a trap, baton passing into a puppet with curse return and so on and, while most aren't amazing, Kokoro is relatively tanky and Suwako is a huge threat with no boosts, making the decision to take some stall moves from moody users justified to balance them and further proof of how strong moody is, unless you got a Sagume.
>>27334916
You do realize that Phase Inversion has priority in Puppets, right?Do you even play puppets. Actually?
>>27334723
Haven't played since Touhou Puppet Play circa 08/09. How balanced is the game in general, and can you severely hamstring yourself depending on which starter you pick?
>>27334723
>>27335642
Choose whatever you want.
Nobody plays the fucking game anyway.
>>27335647
>How balanced is the game in general
eh
>and can you severely hamstring yourself depending on which starter you pick?
I'm guessing you haven't played the first Puppet Dance Performance either, just the rom hacks. Almost every starter is viable for singleplayer.
>>27335647
look here >>27308872
Choose your favorite looking touhou really. You'll be fine because your starter also starts with an item that gives +25% more stats that only it can use, so early game won't be really anal until you hit a difficulty-spike.
>>27334940
That doesn't change the fact it's just a +1 or that your puppet could've done a status attack or something that will bring a bigger advantage than the swap should they see it coming. I have water cutter in my Komachi just for the times I roll more fo. than other stats, for instance.I do, what a silly question
>>27335666
>I'm guessing you haven't played the first Puppet Dance Performance either, just the rom hacks.
Correct.
>Almost every starter is viable for singleplayer.
That sounds promising.
>>27335741
>He runs moody Komachi
Haha oh man, are you for real?
>>27335746
Yeah, you should really give Puppet Dance Performance a try, it's an incredibly solid game.
Either play the base game if you need a translated game, or play the expansion with the UI translation if you don't care about story or if you don't mind playing again when the translation comes out.
Keep in mind, however, that without a translation it's pretty easy to get lost, as OP could probably attest to.
>>27335782
I just run her for kicks, moody Suwako is the real deal. It's far more likely than a puppet with what will usually be a wasted move.
>>27335794
>Moody Suwako
Eh, that's a bit better, but risky as you're basically just hoping that your squishy sweeper doesn't get fucked by Moody.Best Moody use is Moody Kotohime for that stall abuse.
>>27335826
Kotohime is still kinda frail to gather enough moody power, she's also too easy to fuck with other tools because her barrier option has no health. I much prefer a sweeper who has a bigger chance of buffing a relevant stat and is still dangerous without moody than one that's more likely to get RNGed.
The point is though that no one carries enough moody couters because that's stupid more often than not, at best they'll have an anti stat boost who just happens to be in the proper place to deal with the moody user, but hardly any team runs a hard counter.Reiterating, the sole exception is Sagume, but that's just because on play abilitis are much better than phase inversion
>>27334723
>>27335642
>>27335652
As someone who doesnt really know much about touhou, Yuugi is probably my favorite so far. Is she a good starter? Considering playing after the expansion translation is done
>>27337176
They're ALL good starters, she'll be fine. The only really poor starter you could be pick would have to be pretty unlucky, like a full defense or support touhou.
>>27336225
just pick your favorites, you can't really go wrong unless you use renko or something
>>27337176
Yugi is pretty fucking strong, so you'll be fine.
>>27337176
worst oni
>>27334104
Defense Kokoro has great stats and once she achieves final form she can sweep.
>>27337269well shit[\spoiler]
>>27338881
Even then it's not so bad. If you did start with a puppet like Renko or Orange, just catch a Nazrin and/or Chen during the early game, they level up fast and can beat every threat until your options open up.
>>27338881
nice
If this ever gets a full sequel, I hope there are more different ways to find Puppets. Even in the first Pokemon generation in order to find them all you had fishing, gifts and events, NPC trades, Game Corner prizes, safari hunting, and legendaries in addition to the normal walking around in grass or caves.
when will raikoanon come back to us?
>>27342670
The show must go on, anon.
can you trade touhous? there's an Original Trainer mark on them in their info
>>27344538
>trading away your cute puppet waifus
>having 3DPD strangers put your waifu in a wedding dress
Disgusting
>>27344538
The only use I've seen for it has been for puppets imported from the base game to the expansion.
>>27335652
I do play it! And I want to play with someone if possible?
>>27302668
What was the Gengetsu setup for SoD grinding again?
>>27340765
Having said this, now I'm playing the expansion through there do seem to be a few locations with out-of-area puppets hidden around, like a Wriggle on Route 3 and a Kisume in the graveyard well. That's pretty neat.
>>27346439
I used Speed Gengetsu as a mixed sweeper for the end-game but I think Morale Boost Rin is better or AyaP with Salvo.
>>27346741
Hmm, you think so?
I was told, for the lv.95 hell fairies, that Gengetsu-S was one of the better options for that
>>27346790
I put that increased FoAtk item on Rin and just sweeped people with one ability so long as they didn't have an immunity.
Just beat the game for the first time. At the end of the fight, I only had one puppet left, with 23 HP. God damn I wish champions in actual pokemon games put up that much of a fight
>>27346889
Shinki's fucking brutal, I struggled a lot against her in the base game

I had to savescum like a fucking pleb.
>>27346886

>>27346889
I couldn't for the life of me beat her pre-expansion.
That is until we were asked for teams earlier ( >>27300183 was mine) so I decided to try once more because fuck it. Ended up sweeping 4/6 of her team just with Kagero, Mokou cleaned up the rest.
>>27346974
Speed Rin - Morale Boost
Earth -Shooting Press
Fire -Exploding Blaze
Wind -Wind Javelin
Warped -Stealth Kill
covers earth, steel, water, electric, poison, fighting, sound, wind and illusion
9/16 types
so long as the enemy doesn't have something like 100+ hp and fodef you'll one-shot them with Choice Band (Good Ring)
Morale Boost just makes it even more reliable and ignores NVE damage really. I use mostly Exploding Blaze or Shooting Press because of STAB but it's smarter to not start with Rin as a lead and only bring her out when you know you can get a kill for Morale Boost or you want to use her Warped attack.

Which is completely finished and in 100% English?

>>27363267

Without heavy spoilers, what kind of content can people look forward to after beating this?
>>27363601
You can reincarnate your puppets which is basically breeding, for better IV's in the form of stat ranks - S being the best.
As well as changing their mark which is 10% boost to the chosen stat or something, rematches and some fights with some more characters I think. The expansion has more post-game for sure though. Both have netplay.
>>27362935
It's a bit more viable than it was pre-expac due to the new styles... but still, no, not really.
Defensive cores are a lot tougher to come by and getting enough resistances to wall things is very tough without stuff like Steel around. Suzaku screws over everything about the strategy unless you bring at least one terrain-cancelling move, and even then it can be a massive nuisance. There are a lot more notable wallbreakers or otherwise insanely powerful offensive puppets than there are similar Pokemon, and they're also a lot more spread-out usage-wise, making it very difficult to reliably prepare for all avenues of attack. A the lack of an amazing defensive Curse Return user a la Mega Sableye is the final nail in the coffin (SatoriD is good but no reliable recovery really hurts).
Bulky offense is 100% viable, but full-out stall is too passive for how unpredictable teams can be.But if you do find a way to work, by all means go for it.
>>27362935
Extra Hina is a thing, and people seem to like her.
