We can now more easily obtain like 5 good Pokemon with interesting/rare attacks and a bunch of really shitty Pomemon with interesting/rare attacks. Everyone let's prepare for the 4-way Metronome Battle Royale coming in SM. Discuss anything interesting you find here. Selfdestruct Wailord is funny. Softboiled is great to have on good Clefable/Togekiss. Follow Me/Helping hand shenanigans for doubles and a bunch of useless funny shit.

Is there anyway to check if a Clefairy caught in 3rd gen will have magic guard when moved to 4th? If not, I hope someone who restarts FR just for over and over again for it can clone them in emerald and give them out.
>>
>>27255802
Reminder: S/M have connection with R/B/Y thanks to pokebank.
That allows for:
Having Counter on Chansey
Having Self destruct n Mewtwo
Having Metronome on almost fucking everything from gen 1
Having Fissure on Machamp
Heaving Sky attack on Dodrio, AReodactyl, Snorlax and KANGASHKAN
>>
>>27255802
Cool i can have a 5iv clef with sof-
wait i already have one
>>
>>27255973
Ability Capsule is your friend :^)
Other than that it's blind luck
>>
>>27255802
I'm stoked. The crazy hoops you have to jump through to come up with some sets is one of my favorite aspects of Pokemon.
>>
>>27255982
OP here.

FUCK I FORGOT ABOUT GEN1 CONNECTIVITY. Although, some of the stuff you posted there I already posted. Fissure Machamp and Sky Attack Kangaskhan?? Is that true?
>>
>>27255973
Nope, you gotta catch multiple Clefairies and hope you at least get the right nature for each.

Fuck Fire Red though, each move tutors only teaches their moves once. If this counts as game difficulty, I don't welcome it back.
>>
>>27256034
Oh wait, I'm retarded, you can use an Ability Capsule, but that's like 200 BP unless you're a Battle Maison expert. Not a problem for me.
>>
>>27255982
Sorry mixed up two entries.

Heaving Sky attack on Dodrio, AReodactyl,
And Head bash on Snorlax and KANGASHKAN
>>
>>27255996

Forgot about that. Guess I'll catch the needed Clefairy when I restart it so I can have a timid Mewtwo from Kanto for Hyper Training.
>>
>SEISMIC TOSS KANGASKHAN with flawless IVs

wew lads
>>
>>27256067
It's not that broken family, people already tried it
>>
>>27256097
Really?

Because hitting for 200 set damage seems pretty crazy to me. (or 100, if you're playing at level 50)
>>
>>27256025
You can get sky attack on kanga by evolving a missingno. There are other glitch pokemon you'd be able to do that with and get e.g. conversion on vileplume, aurora beam on clefable/nidoking. There will probably be a legality check on inbound trades though.
>>
>>27255802
Tri Attack would be fun if Togekiss didn't lose its normal typing.
>>
The idea of having a legit 6IV Follow Me Magmar is funny, considering the VGC 2013 controversy with Sejun

I think I'm going to replay the Gamecube games and maybe even transfer some gen 3/4 stuff with tutors just for the sake of it, even though I'll probably have little reason to use them in battle
>>
>>27256247
I wanted to transfer stuff over until I realized how terrible it would be to transfer stuff en masse.
>>
>>27256190
It sounds good on paper but Kangaskhan nukes everything with its regular attacks anyway
>>
>>27256190
Wouldn't it be 150 and 75? Unless I forgot how Kanga calcs damage.
>>
>>27255802
I remember catching a Chansey in Fire Red and then breeding one with a good nature (but shit IVs, naturally), teaching it Thunder Wave with the tutor, then transferring it over to Diamond where I EV trained it and taught it its other moves. Then I copied it over to Battle Rev where I ultimately slapped niggas in random online battles with my dumb UU-tier team. I always preferred parahaxing my way to a win over Toxic poison.
>>
>>27256307
It's 200, because Seismic Toss technically doesn't have a base power.
>>
>>27256327
Fug you're right

>>27256527
Does Persian get any other moves to make use of a special technician gimmick?
>>
>>27256058
*Skull Bash
>>
>>27256545
Bubblebeam is 65 base power, so it doesn't get Technician boosted, but Persian gets Water Pulse, Shockwave, and Icy Wind. Although, Thunderbolt is probably better than Shockwave.
>>
Oh boy, XD Zapdos will finally be usable
>>
>>27256582
Oh, well then I don't care.
The only move that's actually going to be worth using is Fissure on Machamp.
And maybe Solarbeam on Lapras as a sun team gimmick.
>>
>>27256527
Teleport & Dragon Rage Arcanine is probably the coolest thing on this list.

thank you.
>>
>>27256212
Just a friendly reminder, but the Nintendo legality checks only checks to see if a Pokemon's moves are part of its official move list. Even if you can totes legit get a Sky Attack Kangaskahn in gen 1, Sky Attack is not on Kanga's official move list.

Softboiled Clefable (3rd gen)
Softboiled Togekiss (3rd gen)
Baton Pass Zapdos (from XD)
Fissure Machamp (from RBY)
>doubles only
Helping Hand Togekiss (from XD)
Helping Hand Dusclops (from XD)
Follow Me Magmar (from XD)

Probably the only noteworthy moves.

Seismic toss might be useful on low dammage tanks/stallers

egg move my ass
>>
>>27256582
Doesn't shockwave have more pp than thunderbolt? I'd say it's worth it over a 10% paralysis chance.
>>
>>27257281
Shock Wave also ignores accuracy drops and evasion.
>>
>>27257281
Unless you're playing stall, in which why and how will a Persian survive more than 2 hits, I don't think the extra PP will change much. The never missing could be seen as better than 10% paralysis chance, but no one uses evasion moves except bad players and showderp's Citizen Snips' acupressure
>>
>>27257281
Ingame, yes. Competitively, no.
>>
>>27256629
Gen 8 maybe, then I could finally start using shinies that have been sitting in boxes since generation 3.
>>
>>27257183
yfw Recover move tutor in SM
>>
And you still won't be able to use them in competitions due to no whatever the fuck the new Pentagon is
>>
>>27259408
You won't be able to use them in competition anyway because they're not Primal Groudon, Mega Kangaskhan, or Xerneas.
