Okay, /vp/, here's a little question for you: how can we prove that our photos/videos/audio aren't sent to Niantic? I did a simple math (5-8mb/h of data consuption counting in Google maps and Niantic DB (and substracting) divided by 10 Pokemon per hour... it can't stream video all the time) but this is not decisive. Are there any decisive proofs? Decompiled code of the game, observations/experiments etc...
Also, are Pokemon encounters client-side or server-side?

Who literally gives a shit if they get pictures. Are you a criminal?

This. I'm pretty sure no one gives a shit what I'm doing in a Central European village at 4 am.

>Also, are Pokemon encounters client-side or server-side?
Regular encounters and lure encounters are server-side, incense encounters are client-side.
Your conspiracy theory is stupid, by the way.

Dem paranoid neckbeards at it again

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyhole,_Inc
Niantic is a blackwater funded corporation
Geospatial mapping and all that jazz
Take that as you want
That being said, i won't let the botnet spoil my fun

Thanks. It's not mine, I want to decisively disprove it

How can we prove that 4chan isn't selling your information to the fbi?
just do what i do and never use the internet

Honestly, I don't really care about 4chan. I only care about Pokemon GO. And I'm fed up with those theories.
Here's a little story for you. My dad is a programmer (with a lot of experience) and, because of Keyhole Inc. being funded by CIA, he is very paranoid about that. I want to find a way to disprove his "professional" opinion. I read the Niantic offer agreement, then did a simple math and came to the conclusion that the data transferred to the servers is too small to contain media BUT these calculations are approximate. And I want a definite one.
If there was a way to see what kinds of data this game sends to the servers...

Leave game running for 24h, don't catch anything. Then go spend 24h catching everything you can.
Compare data usage.

24h is too risky with the unstable servers. But 3h is enough (I guess) and walking the same route should do the trick. Thanks, I'll try.
