I really wish GameFreak would release a proper artbook. I think the reason they won't is because they often come back to scrapped or beta Pokemon ideas in future generations, but I'd still pay money for a proper compilation of finished-design concept art.

At least we've been getting bits and pieces in the guidebooks lately. It's a start.

The concept art of those supposed final evolutions feel more cramped. I guess that's what's about.

I mean, I'd give those "leaks" a chance, but the tinier sketches (the ones that are line art only) feel more rushed/scribblier than former ones, which is part of the reason why I slightly doubt them. If they were done a bit more professionally, at least I'd try to consider the possibility of them being real. Some of them almost feel unnecessary and irrelevant to be in the concept art itself, considering these are meant to be for animators, I assume? The notes, I'd still argue to be necessary, if they do make sense in japanese, but will the tinier sketchs really help them in that sense too? They might still be useful in the sense of seeing how these pokemon portray their emotions, but regarding anatomy wise and design wise, you'd think something more crisp and cleaner would be more useful in that regard.
