This is my team heading through Mt. Moon on my first Nuzlocke challenge in Fire Red. I caught a Zubat in here but boxed it because I didn't see any value in training it.

it's less about them being easy, it's about them being imbalanced, you can get an abra, but you won't be able to get an alakazam on vanilla games, you're always getting the same pokemons on grass(whereas hacks have more variety), it's stuff like that

Taking an onix wasn't useful at all. Geodude is much much better. And onix stopped listening to me after a while.

Anyone familiar with Black 2 challenge mode randomized nuzlocke?

Are the levels meant to be different from the "actual" challenge mode or will selecting the mode artificially raise the pokemon levels?

anyone else feel like they're too impatient/careless to ever get far in a nuzlocke?

i just had all my mons die again in a black 2 run pretty early on. it's always something stupid like a crit from a wild pokemon that takes down my starter, and it all goes downhill from there

My overleveled Hypno who I was really attached to died at full health to a steelix crit.

I don't like starters, so I'm using Chikorita as an HM slave for now.

I feel like I'll make it to the end this run.

Only Nuzlocke I've ever run was in vanilla Pearl, and I did really well up until a random Galactic Grunt killed my Graveler, then I lost my Staraptor to a Machoke with Revenge immediately afterwards. Kind of killed my motivation to finish it because both pokemon had been important parts of my team for a long time.

It's a lot more challenging than a normal run-through and you get REALLY attached to your team. Forces you to think about the game in a different way because you actually have to pay close attention to stats and make the most use of what's available to you.

Got through Nugget bridge - was hoping for an Abra on Route 24 or 25 but ended up with another Spearow and an Oddish instead.
