Story and anime go to Digimon. Games definitely go to Pokemon because of all the crap in Dusk/Dawn such as having to devolve your Digimon only to re-train them to get the one you wanted, changing entire game mechanics between games such as gaining Tamer rank, and Dusk/Dawn trying to rip off RSE's story and failing.

Those that say it is are not talking about the games, which is an unfair comparison. In general, though, it's an unfair comparison, as you're talking about one monster franchise with younger kids in mind, and another that has preteens and teenagers in mind. It depends on what you're looking for. That being said, I think Digimon is less imaginative, it's not nearly as diverse as pokemon. The only quality story you'll find in pokemon , though, is either in MD or is fanfiction.

I love quality story, but if Cyber Sleuth has taught me anything, it's that you tune it out after a while. It's only good if you're not seeing it over and over.

Cyber Sleuth? Cyber Sleuth wasn't great. The story and characters are cringe-inducingly "lol, so random" incompetent, the bosses were nothing more than generic enemies with rediculously inflated HP, and any actual tactic was less valuable than bringing the correct assortment of Rock-Paper-Scissors pieces and spamming defense piercing attacks. Pokemon is a franchise with a lot of different components. Digimon is most importantly an anime series. Yugioh is most importantly a card game with a 30 minute commercial that has 5 seasons.
