if we're going by numbers, red/blue has 31 million physical sales, that's ignoring all the downloads for roms and emulators (which is only fair since pokemon GO is also f2p)

It's game were you can't lose, you don't have to learn anything, there is no challenge. You just walk and tap the screen to win.

If everyone had a 3DS and XY were free and this simple, it'd also be pretty damn popular.
