I really would like a region that's non western yet not tropical or desert. Alola is nice but I wouldn't want something like that for our next region, and I don't really want to get in a pattern of doing random American states. Russia or maybe even part of China would be good, since most of the important parts of Japan are already taken.

I swear though if they have another warm or temperate region, or if they do a cold region but make it fucking Canada I might kms.

I personally think that while in theory this sounds like an awesome idea, part of what makes a Pokemon game or region so good is the parallels to ancient myths in the real life place. This is a problem that I have with Unova that while I like Gen 5, there's basically no ancient lore for New York unless you want to count native lore, but there was basically none of that, so instead they had to make up a bunch from other inspirations and mix it together. Hawaii itself still retains some of its original culture so there's more of that to go on for Alola, but the rest of the US doesn't really have this.

I mean they could get into the native myths but I doubt is as they had their chance, but you're right, there are those few concepts to explore. It's also a bit about the implied centuries or millenia of history in the area too though, and even as an American I don't think it's necessarily on par with other concepts. But if we must have another American region Great Lakes is the way to go, maybe Pacific Northwest. Everywhere else can get fucked.
