This. If I have a full 6 party, my most useful is always 3-10 ahead n my just favorite pokemon gets a few ahead as well just from leading the party

I only have 5 party member but I feel like it will trigger me if I add a 6th member that isn't at the same level as the others. I was thinking of getting a Vaporeon since I have no water and it's the nearest water Pokémon I could get by getting the Eevee at Celadon.

Trying to keep your team at roughly the same level isn't autistic, but keeping them at the exact same level is a little autistic.

However, the sensible thing to do if a pokemon is having trouble keeping up is to switch it out for something stronger, unless you're planning on evolving it.

No. It makes good sense from a gameplay perspective. Two pokemon of similar levels should perform similarly, within reason.
