I've been playing for 5 days now and I still can't tell. Do you want the inner coloured ring to match the outer white ring, or do you want the coloured ring to be as small as possible?
I know you get bonus XP when the ring is bigger, but I have had Pokemon break out on "Nice" and "Great"s way more often than when the ring is tiny. Maybe it is some sort of confirmation bias or something.

I emailed their support team and wrote them a very kind, appreciative, and thankfulmessage. I genuinely wanted to let them know that regardless of people complaining and demanding this or that, they really are fulfilling the dreams of people of all ages. At the end I made a plea, not a demand, about my small town (<150 people, we have a church and a post office, that's it.). I asked that if it were at all possible, to do something for the little rural suburb. I wasn't expecting anything other than the automated email response, but about twenty minutes later my game got caught on a loading loop. I wasn't able to log in for about 10 minutes, I thought the servers had just gone down again. Once I was back in I noticed that the post office down the street was now a gym, and the church down the road from the post office was now a pokeStop!

Every pokemon, and im talking every one, runs away.. i'm level 13, and a 11cp weedle just broke free and ran.
Wtf has happened, this never happened before i hit level 12.

That said, I hiked round the nature park near me today chasing Pokestops on boards about the local wildlife, and gyms on monuments. Lived her 5 years and never been interested in going in before.

Not as bad as what happened to my cousin last night on a server crash. He was in the middle of a gym battle and everything froze up on him. Force closed the app, reopened it, and found his 700+ Jolteon that he was battling the gym with, which was one of his 2 only 500+ mons, was completely gone form his game.
