So we have what, like 16 weeks before S/M comes out I think? We already know 3 episodes, and probably a two-parter, maybe even three parts, for Ash vs Alan. Assuming 2 episodes to close off the show and I can't imagine them spending more than a month on the Flare arc considering all the episodes they've already spent on setup. What will the other ~4 weeks be used for?

Both Gen 4 and Gen 6 had so few new pokemon to give the main characters. Especially Gen 4 too because half the new pokemon were legendaries or new evolutions of old pokemon.

I do like that we got to see some old Johto pokemon on the cast that weren't caught in the original region because of the new evo's:

- Swinub/Piloswine for Mamoswine
- Aipom for Ambipom

Besides, Sceptile and Greninja are on pretty even footing when they're not Mega'd I think, after considering types. Greninja beat Sceptile that one time because he was Synchro'd and Sceptile wasn't Mega'd. I don't think they're that far apart.

Hawlucha learned to be a team player and be more humble, Greninja learned that it's okay to lose, Goodra started off as a weak Goomy and became stronger so it could protect the ones he loves, Noibat learned to fly and basically grew up on screen. For Serena Braixen got over her 'fear' to get dirty for Serena, Pancham and Chespin stopped fighting as much, Eevee stopped being shy. For Clemont Chespin is still a lil shitmon, Bunnelby was given a background episode in which he learned to stand up for himself. Luxray learned to trust Clemont again and forgave him after he thought he had been stood up by him.

I've recently rewatched Inazuma 11 (Tomioka was head writer in that series) and just realized the subplot between the MC and the tsurime eyes' manager (the same one who wanted to destroy the MC's soccer club in S1 and kinda had a change of heart because of MC's stubborn determination) in season 3 was pretty well executed and wasn't neither shoehorned nor overexposed like amour subplot. Despite being a cliched hotblooded MC x ojousama tsundere girl endgame that went canon in the sequel series after a timeskip, it was pretty well developed, considering that Ina11 was aimed at elementary school children, just like Pokemon.

Just saw the data broadcasts. So, here's my theory and shit. So obviously 36 and 37 are Ash vs. Alain in the Kalos League. It's questionable whether 38 being Lizardon means that Ash vs. Alain is a 3-parter, or if this is possibly the beginning of the Flare plot. I'm inclined to say the latter since I'm thinking the Flare plot ends at 41 and having it be only 3 episodes would be odd. So, 38 through 41 is Flare plot, then 42 and 43 involves some theory I've been having that I don't know if I should post on account of too much autism, but after 43, we should have about 6 or 7 episodes left. Perhaps 2 or 3 of those will be "XY family leaving" epsiodes, but 44 through at least 47 will be Ash challenging his way through the Champion League. It's the only reason I can see for them leaving so much space after the league and Flare plots.
