the only reason pokemon go might not stay popular for long is because there's no depth to the game. OR it might stay popular for that very reason; it's easy to go out and catch shit and it's engineered to be repeatable and satisfying. with the social aspect it might stay very popular. college campuses in particular tend to be covered in pokestops and gyms.

the fact of the matter, though, is that pokemon was never some secret club. i was playing red and blue in middle school, and my sister (ten years younger than me) played the relevant games when she was my age and continued as she grew up. she's not some isolated incident. pokemon has always been accessible and played and loved by people from pretty much every demographic so bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

For those saying it wont last past September, you are not thinking about who the main people using this are. By September everyone will be heading back to school. This means that college campuses will have plenty of people wondering around their campus playing. It will get back the people that stopped playing and will get new people to play. Same goes for the kids in middle school- high school.

I can see it dying eventually but I feel that it will hold the attention of the casual Pokemon fans the longest.

Right now it's summer and everyone is going outside anyway making Go perfect for them.

Then there will probably be another spike as school starts up again and people settle.
