I had been getting a bit doughy and sedentary thanks to a new job that has me at a desk 8-10 hours a day 5 times a week. I canyon early say that going for a walk/jog is no longer an issue because I have something to keep me entertained while I do it. Hopefully that allure doesn't wear off. Granted, I have only used the app an hour-2hrs a day since its been out while I'm walking or at a new location. It gives a little extra incentive to keep going back out there.

That said, otherwise, the game is not something I like. Pay to make it easier, no real battle system, gen 1 pandering (for now), and ridiculous methods to evolve don't make the game very rewarding. I need some instant gratification. Not pidgey, weedle, and rattata around my house 24/7.

You CAN use real money but if you're active enough you don't need too.

all within 10 minutes of my house are 3 pokestops and 2 gyms.

within 20 minutes it becomes 3 gyms and 11 pokestops.

Each pokestop gives 50xp and 3-5 items and resets every 5 minutes, if I walk the most efficent route in 1 hour I can walk about 3 miles and hit each pokestop 3 - 4 times each thats minimum 99 items and 1650xp with an average of 45 pokemo encounters if I skip the gyms.

So if you feel you need to use the shop to buy items rather than going out and walking then all I can say is you are ignoring the main point of the app which is just a new way to get fat kids and people out and about rather than being indoors all the time.
