For something like this you just have to assume that 1 had the best designs, anyone posting otherwise is just trolling because gen 1 defines what pokemon look like to a large degree. When someone calls something a digimon or not a pokemon it's in reference to the ideal established in gen 1.

Last time I played Pokemon it was the 90s and they were Gen 1 (Red and Blue) on Gameboy Color. Fun as fuck times but for some reason I didn't keep playing.

Now I want to sit outside on my hammock and enjoy Pokemon once again. Got a 3DS, which Pokemon games should I get? I know nothing about this series since Gen 1.
