Idiot question about the gyms -
If it's the same color gym, I can battle and win, get xp, it's nice. But then I can't enter that same pokemon to defend the gym?

Also is the only reason to leave a pokemon at a gym extra coins at the daily login? Otherwise, should I just stomp them even if they're my same color and move on?

Yup! Depending on how many pokemon you defeat I think its 100xp per mon to the gym bar and you get some trainer xp too. Theres no CD but you will be fighting a friendly gym with only 1 pokemon and probably need to use potions after each fight.

This is bad advice. Eevee jumps considerably upon evolution, raticate is piss easy to evolve, pidgeot is also piss easy. Waiting only saves you resources in the long run. Evolving rattatas and pidgey's with a lucky egg on is by far the fastest way to level

have all 3 eeveelutions, kabuto, and a lot of really solid pokemon. I seem to be the highest level I've seen anywhere locally with most being near 10. Also, being yellow and fighting off everyone when you're one of the only people on yellow is fun when you have a few really high level yellows with you.
