Slightly related, has anyone else felt like they've been forced to like Charizard less? Like most people it was literally my first pokemon but the Gamefreak shilling and pandering has made me almost hate the fucking thing.

Just off the top of my head, but just like every gen I could use practically anything and be happy with it. Replace Sandslash with Golem, Arbok with Vileplume or Haunter, Golduck with Seadra or Poliwrath... The only Genwun pokémon I really dislike are Zard and Gengar, but even then Gengar's gen one sprite is the only instance where I actually really fucking love the thing, it became shit from gen 3 onwards.

Nah, same thing happened to me. I used to pick mostly Charizard. Eventually I stopped overvalorating him so much in comparison with the other two but not hate him, but Gamefreak managed to make me dislike him with how much they forced it into everything.

At least it's not like Lucario, who I never liked to begin with and who got forced even harder.

These are my favorites purely on appearance. Any ideas of them being competitively useful were squashed long ago, especially poor Tauros. Was there any Pokemon that fell farther, faster, than Tauros?

I have run with so many teams its hard to choose. Exeggutor was the only pokemon that survived my first nuzlocke, Sabrina managed to get crit after crit on my team and I only had a snorlax left. I got insanely lucky in the safari zone and caught an egg, a scyther and a tauros. That was the most ridiculous nuzlocke I ever had
