the gameplay has nothing to do with the series. having only the original 151 available ensures maximum nostalgia mostly for people who haven’t played the series since the 90s. it also panders heavily to the anime with the animations for the pokéball.
this game is targeted at 20-somethings who watched the anime after school once a week, played red or blue version, then moved on with their lives.
there’s a huge emphasis on quantity over bond. which is funny because even the anime was against this idea. Gary caught loads and loads of pokemon while Ash chose to have a strong bond with only a few special pokémon that meant something to him.
but now it’s “capture and trash 30 of x pokemon to get Y evolution,” and that’s fucking depressing. the game is literally equating the experience, life and happiness of one species as being worth less than another inherently. the spirit of the series says that someone can go, catch one caterpie, and live a full life with it never evolving, because it’s still a living, thinking pokémon.
maybe I’m getting to emotionally attached to fictional biology, but…this does NOT feel right.

Before, there was but one Blue gym, with my entire half of the city being controlled by Yellow and Red forces.
At 5AM I went out and destroyed them all, and even if it is brief, there is naught but Blue in sight.
There's two more gyms I lead behind this picture, too.

Is there any point becoming a gym leader if some faggot on my team has put a derp in the gym?

Does the gym get hurt if a trainer beats the derps, but loses to the tougher ones?

Would it be benificial to attack opposing gyms to beat their derps?

Every time. Every time I go to fight a gym servers cuck me from a win. I either find a gym and it kicks me out the first second of battle or I get the 1HP glitch. The one time I do beat a gym, some other guy snipes the gym from me and when I try to get it back I got the 1HP glitch again.
