To go from a crude angular design to something smoother was logical for a virtual/computer based pokemon anyway

A lot of pokemon who didn't have evolutions that gained one just bother me. I liked them as is. The two biggest examples being magmar and electrobuzz.

Porygon just falls in that category where he didn't need a evolution and realistically it makes 0 sense that he has one. They could have made them as separate pokemon, they were developed separate as computer programs are, and it'd have made more sense.
