Do it all over again tomorrow and level up. Higher trainer level will mean higher CP pokemon, and with each pokemon you catch you get candy and stardust to evolve and level up your 'mons.

If you live in an area populated enough to find pokemon regularly (I can drop incense in my house and grind out pidgeys and spearows along with a couple other assorted species), then your main worry is just keeping stocked on pokeballs and eggs and finding gyms. If you don't have any notable markers close to you it can be tough to do that.

this game (currently) is basically just a big group scavenger hunt with a king of the hill type system. However, even with not a lot of depth, it seems to have a lot of fun benefits:
- having a fun sense of exploration/treasure hunt
- satisfaction in taking over gyms
- seeing how many random poke trainers are out there in the world and interacting randomly with funny stories about how you went to some shithole at 2am to catch a zubat

that is the current narrative of the game...it is not smogon level poke raising and battling/strategy and you are not getting any story out of it besides your own

in the future there will supposedly be more features like events, trading and connectivity with other games, also eventually catching all pokemon

The smaller the circle is, the higher chance you have of successfully capturing the Pokemon

BUT if your Pokeball hits the Pokemon inside of the shrinking circle, you get an EXP bonus, so the bigger the circle the easier to do it
