Icicle shield : All of the opponent's moves that normally do neutral damage do 0.5 instead.
Since GF will never save the ice type maybe if they implemented an ability like this it would be able to save some bulky ice types

how about an ability where every other turn the effectiveness of moves received by a Pokémon are reversed

Ability: Dragon Type
When a pokemon uses a Dragon type move, the move is boosted by 50%. It gains all it's weaknesses, and resistances.
Basically, a third type.
There's variant for each type.
