With the game ending after a knockout, the strategy will be about the 4 players making sure they'll be the winner when the knockout happens, which also means trying to prevent the knockout if it means they'll lose. On paper there is a lot of crazy mindgames that can result from it. If people could be knocked out and the match still continue, people can just gang up on the strongest player which doesn't sound balanced

They're likely the name for the playable character, with the rival having a different name. Elio/Selene are equivalent to Orlando/Anna and Xavier/Yvonne, not to Brendan/May or Calem/Serena
