What would be the best setup for an offensive Shell Smashing Crustle? I'm thinking a Jolly one with Sturdy (252 Atk/ 252 Spd/ 4 Def) and Shell Smash, X-Scissor, Rock Blast, and Earthquake? Or should I go with Rock Slide over Blast? What about Knock Off?

This is for an in-game Crustle for a young kid (my little cousin) so I don't want it as a PU or whatever hazard setter like it's supposed to be since that's not as fun to use (and she loves hermit crabs so I figured giving her a shiny hexa Dwebble for her to use she'd shit).

(I wanna request one of these, but only after I've hammered out the details. Still need to think of a good nickname and ball also.)

you might not get much use from knock off in game. you might screw yourself over by knocking off something from a wild pokemon.

My New 3DS is running version 11.0.0, and my PCs all run Linux. Am I fucked injection-wise? PKHeX says that it 'may be glitchy in Linux' on the GitHub page. I haven't tried to homebrew it yet.

Also how easy is it to royally fuck up and lose everything when injecting? I'd like to avoid that.

If you're on 11.0.0, I think you can only access Homebrew via Ocarina of Time, Freakyforms, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon and.. probably exactly one other thing (that I forgot)
As far as I know, it isn't easy to lose everything unless you're keeping multiple save files and accidentally save over one without keeping backups but you just have to be careful and keep a lot of backups

It's not one-to-one hacking. With PkHex, you can edit every byte and it comes out legitimate. If you try really hard to fuck up, it will tell you immediately (and what failed) with the hack check. It also can auto-correct things like egg moves with a button click.

Powersaves is sort of like using a rusty spoon for surgery. It is really cumbersome, and leaves hacking evidence everywhere. It's just not a clean method.

What's a good way to see if a Pokemon will be able to go through the GTS when I create one from scratch using PkHex?

I tried fulfilling some requests earlier and despite it seeming completely legit (no red exclamation etc) it said it couldn't be traded.

Am I missing something obvious?

You want to modify an already existing pokemon. The less you have to create, the better. There's a lot of shit that can go wrong and the hackcheck isn't perfect.

If you fucking this up, you want to to do the following:
-Clone a legendary that you have
-Trade it on GTS for a copy of whatever legendary you want to hack
-Modify that pokemon to have the right stats and it should be legal

-Google the exact event name + .pk6 or QR code or PkHex. You will need to modify a legal copy of it.
