Obviously you never played into the Kanto league post story, where you can fight your rival again in mt.moon, and (i think) every Wednesday at the dragon shrine in blackthorn.

Bitch, Gen two fucking polished up the battle mechanics, introduced weather moves/effects, breeding, pre-evos to up the stats of previously single staged pokemon, had the "douche" rival everyone seems to want back, and the best fucking post game to date.
