Yup, I assembled a living dex a few months after bank came out. I've dumped it in the game of casuals to make shinies less valuable.

Me and my boyfriend have a shared living dex. We didn't "catch" them all, but a shiny charm is a shiny charm.

I had a living dex in Omega Ruby until my SD card quit working. I started collecting event legendaries again so that I could start a new one in Sun/Moon.

I have had full dexes in the past but honestly it's not worth it. Actually trying to catch shinies is still arduous and the odds are still daunting. Most shiny palettes suck or aren't as cool as normal anyway.

Owned them all, sure. Caught them all? Strictly speaking it's impossible without cheating.
Many species can't be caught because they can't be legitimately fought in the wild, only evolved, hatched or dowloaded. You'll never actually make a capture attempt with a ball on them.
