So way back when, Devon tried to capture Rayquaza, one part in hopes to combat the eco-terrorists they weren't completely sure existed, one part in hopes that its energy could be used to further society. Rayquaza gets captured but Aster accidentally gets killed in the crossfire. Zinnia decides to bust Rayquaza out partly as revenge, partly as to get her god back. This results in her Salamance slicing Ruby's head and both him and Sapphire getting traumatized. Rayquaza, meanwhile, flies off to parts unknown.

Skip to RS arc, in order to find Rayquaza, Zinnia tells both Maxie and Archie about how to summon Groudon and Kyogre in hopes that the ensuing battle will draw out Rayquaza. And we all know how that went down.

No, pokespe is most definitely for children. It's meant with several demographics in mind, and can be enjoyed by adults, but the primary demographic it's aimed at is 6-12-year-old boys.

cartoons not from burgerland tend to be able to get away with more, so that's why american fans tend to misattribute primary demographic marketing classifications of shonen works. On the other we have manchildren who think it's okay for the games to be overly easy and patronizing because apparently children are too dumb and have attention spans too short to play something challenging.

Yeah, Blue was a dick and that's what made us want to overcome him even more. Still, he offered good chunks of advice and gave you items because he was a RIVAL. Not an enemy. He just happened to be a dick and wanted to be better than you in every sense. The same could be said about Barry, although he was much friendlier. Silver was a whiny faggot who deserved every single time we kicked his ass. RSE May/Brendan were your neighbors and pretty much your only friend, but still offered a nice challenge at times. Not sure if Wally counts but him being a pushover and then kicking your ass at the end of Victory Road was nice aswell.
