It goes bipedal in the anime when it uses its swords so why is it quadrupedal in the first place? Its main way of attacking isn't in line with the design of the pokemon then. At the very least have it go bipedal in game.

Samurott's design is fine though. The design itself already has allot going on without standing on it's hind legs. I feel that being Dewott's evolution is the reason why the design isn't as well received. Even though Dewott only stayed bipedal to showcase the samurai motifs and influence which isn't necessary for the fully armored and massive katana-welding final form.

To be fair, Emboar looks malevolent, vile and evil. Dark type Emboar would have made perfect sense unlike fighting type Emboar.
