I just checked and every single old Pokemon they showed us in X/Y trailers were in the regional 'Dex

At least we're getting some 'Mons that weren't in X/Y's such a Growlithe, Spearow, Feebas, Electabuzz etc.

It's kind of weird how they rarely show us new Pokemon battling new Pokemon, as they did that a lot in X/Y pre-release.

Just Hariyama, Gligar, and Krookodile. The first two are catchable in game, and Krookodile's first stage, Sandile is catchable.

Note, this also means that just because we've seen them in trailers and teasers, doesn't mean they'll actually be in the wild in the evolved forms. Krookodile wasn't. And Sylveon is shown to be in the wild/opponent position during the trailer too. Trailer battles are just done to show off the Pokemon. So while the Pokemon will probably be in the game, they may not necessarily show up in the wild in the stage that was shown.

I hated the Unova dex at first but BW forced me to get used to them, which is probably why I now have such a great appreciation for a lot of them. In XY however memesword, Sylveon and the starters were the only NEW Pokemon that I actually used.

I've always believed in quality over quantity. And considering Game Freak's track record, more mons really just equates to a bunch of clones of previous gen pokemons.


Unova had the largest pokedex but most of the mons were reboots of Kanto mons.
Kalos on the other hand had the best ratio of mons I liked versus those that I hated.
