People are calling everything edgy because they think it makes them stand out. Probably something to do with being bullied at school for wearing a trenchcoat. But Salamence is a bro, was my favourite Dragon until his mega came out

1. Don't worry about what people think, like what you like, even if it's edgy.

2. People like throwing around the word "edgy" even when it doesn't belong.
For example, Darkrai is edgy. Haxorus is a little edgy. Salamence is not.

Salamence is more "cool-looking" than edgy.

Edgy is when badass/cool-looking designs look forced with too many unnecessary details like Garchomp and Lucario. Salamance on the other hand is a simplistic badass dragon perfectly executed properly in the pokemon style. Its a top tier Dragon design.

Probably the most accurate mon to European dragons.

I don't even think Darkrai is edgy, it's evil without even wanting to be, iirc the bad dreams are just a defense mechanism. It's a Tim Burton-esque ghost when it has its legs out. I really like Darkrai's design when it's got its legs out in the movie. It looks a bit bland without them.

It's a speedier, more blunt Dragonite with a less diverse movepool. Plus it has a Mega. I'd say its pretty viable, but strangely doesn't appear in too many matches for some reason. Make of that what you will.
