It's a fun and unique gimmick, and a good way to add a new layer to an existing pokemon, I like it.
Had it been a new pokemon in itself I probably would have found it forced, but it uses already established lore, that rotom can possess electrical, and uses it further. Plus it's a pokedex specifically made for that, which is nice too.

Room possessing a pokedex is a cool idea, but I don't like that it can actually talk.
How I'm feeling about it gameplay-wise remains to be seen, hopefully the handholding it offers isn't too extreme.

Whisper in Yokai Watch is nothing more than a ghost that follows you around and tells you stuff, the concepts are similar, I'll give you that, but they're different in their execution and the way they're implemented in their respective lores.

And for fuck's sake, don't try and act like anything being "fun" can be seen objectively, I never said my opinion is a general truth. And no, a concept doesn't need much information to be perceived as fun by some people.
