Death of the middle class and producing a massive wage and lifestyle disparity between the Haves and the viciously exploited Have Nots is the best way to keep the system running. The Haves, with the money, fear living like the Have Nots and pour cash into the system. The Have Nots can't do anything to stop it.

It isn't ideal as in "high ideals", but it is efficient.

Socialism requires a low population, plentiful resources and a society where everyone shares the same basic values and culture so that they're inclined to support eachother. I didn't say it works completely flawlessly on a country-wide scale. Just that it has had its successes. Which was what was asked of me.

Though that said: fire departments, police departments, libraries, public education, having a standing army in case of invasion, infrastructure and repair.
They all have shortcomings, sure, but its better than them not being there at all by a considerable margin.

Can you imagine having to personally pay to re-tar your road to work, having to hire security to protect your house from home invasion, having to put your house off fire on your own, how much more annoying poor people would be to deal with on a daily basis if they couldn't read or count because they couldn't hire private tutors?

What are you suggesting, then? That there be no goods and services at all? If you can't obtain it yourself, then you don't get it? I think someone has missed the point of why society exists, or how it functions. I cannot deny I don't know of a single society that does, too. All I know is that if all components don't work together, the entire system will fail. I think it's time we stop telling people what they can and can't do and just let them do what they want. They want to be disruptive? There are uses for being disruptive. One works with what they have rather than trying to do without. I'm not exactly the person who can say such things, but I am quite content with what I have, no matter what anyone else thinks of that.

Just because you work "hard" doesn't mean you achieved said experience and results all by yourself.

You as an individual didn't spend centuries upon centuries building up knowledge to utilize for the success you have today. You achieve that success by standing on top of the shoulders of greater men than yourself and using their knowledge to build upon from.

Once you realize this it becomes obvious why exp. share is perfectly alright to use for the magikarp. It's because you yourself utilized a extremely similar device to get where you're at now.
