I found these helpful:
Clock, Pedometer, Friendship Checker, Dowsing, Day Care, Counter, Color Changer, Matchup checker.
And there were some that I played with alot, not to mention I actually used the timer when I could only play for 1 hour or so.
The ones I listed as helpful are 9 in total.

Seriously though gen 4 and 5 had terrible 3D and often times they came out really pixelated and generally unappealing.
