Wallace has been and probably always will be my favorite gym leader, granted they might have gone a little overboard with the redesign and I wish they would've given him the cape he had as Champion, but it doesn't change my opinion of him. As a Champion I like his team, but it's also a monotype Champion team which inherently makes it weaker than, say, Steven's varied team.

Wattson didn't have any Hoenn Pokemon, Flannery had two Slugma, Tate and Liza only had Solrock and Lunatone (well, that certainly was to show off the brand new double battles, but still), Wallace had two shitmons (although Luvdisc is kind of his signature Pokemon, along with Milotic), AND a not fully evolved Pokemon (Sealeo).

Luckilly, their teams were all improved in Emerald. Sadly, they didn't use the Emerald teams for ORAS.
