What this entry is implying is, this shit's essentially a heavyweight steel clad arachnid that first CRUSHES the victim with its actual weight (and I very much doubt he's light) and devours the victim, either dead or alive but injured over the crushing weight, with its fear inducing mouth coming right at it, being able to do NOTHING except seeing yourself being eaten whole unless there's something that can make a Metagross gag and recoil.

Jesus christ, Game Freak, I've seen some pokedex entries, but I still manage to get myself creeped out by some I haven't heard about since so long.

I'm still terrified by Gorebyss' entry, for crying out loud.

Honestly it seems for the most part the dex tends to only really be totally accurate in regards to the legendary pokemon. Some of the entries have sort of absurd things at times, that aren't replicate-able in gameplay, which should probably be worked on. The Metagross Line fusion thing is just one example.

Regarding the animal references, those have been removed from later generation's dexes, generally starting in Gen IV given it creates a plot hole in the world. As far as the style guide and the devs are concerned, the only fauna in the Pokemon World besides humans is pokemon.

Mewtwo was born from a pregnant Mew, found deep in the jungles of Guyana, whose embryo had been tampered with to alter its DNA. It was held and studied in the mansion where a scientist performed horrific gene-splicing experiments that made it vicious and extremely powerful. It eventually broke free of the Mansion, destroying it in the process, and fled. It can be encountered in Cerulean Cave, accessible only after a Trainer has proven his or her skill at the Indigo Plateau.
