I can deal with Ash. Just get ride of Team Rocket already. They actively drain the enjoyment from the show. It's the same thing over and over again every fucking episode. Every time I'm really starting to get into the episode they show up and shit all over it.

I like them when they're not just shoehorned into the episode to fill airtime, which is most of the time. Their rivalry with team flare is cool, and I like when they're competent, particularly when it helps characters get stronger. It would be great if their Pokemon actually kept up with Ash, providing a consistent challenge and essentially training. But it wasn't meant to be.

I'm just tired of the laziness and formulaicness of the show - Team Rocket, the glowing limbs, Ash. I'd take 2 episodes a month instead of 4 if we could up the quality of the episodes just a bit.

He's teaching kids an important lesson about perseverance. You don't become a champion overnight. Becoming great at anything requires enduring defeat after defeat. It's easy to stop and reconsider what you're doing after a few losses. Even Gary Oak threw in the towel after two defeats. What makes Ash a better trainer is that he keeps getting up no matter how many times he gets BTFO. If he were to someday win, it wouldn't be because of natural talent, but because of perseverance and accumulated experience.
