Didn't get an invite, but from what I've seen I'm almost positive it's going to flop.

Just throwing Poke Balls at everything is boring.

For Android users, it didn't seem particularly rare. I know several people who got in.

For iOS users, I've heard there were only 2000 nationwide (iOS App Store puts a limit). That might be bullshit, though.

I didn't get to play but from the look of it its Ingress + Pokemon so I am down.

Not great, has some things I would enjoy like exploring and walking around, wouldn't go out of my way to actually go out just for it, but if I can play while running errands than I'm all up for it. I just wish that they get rid of having the app open to play. Hopefully the go+ let's me play without having the app open and killing my battery and overheating my phone in less than 10 minutes.

I personally thought it was pretty good. From what I read in the field test forums it sounded like they will fix the battery issues through optimization (everyone complained about it.
I think this game was designed to be accessible to the more normal/casual crowd.
The territory war aspect was pretty neat. You fight people out of gyms so your color can dominate.
The game was very rewarding if you played it in density populated areas with many stops to get free supplies
Also from what I read there will be a lot of features we didn't see in the field test
