The animé has always pretty much ignores abilities. Take Pikachu as example, he has none. Not Static, not Lightning rod, nothing.

Greninja only knows water and flying moves, which is lame, but they serve their purpose. At no point he became immune to ground or neutral to grass.

This is definitely a new move, but considering he only has 3 (Water Shouriken, Aerial Ace? And Double Team?) I see no reason to assume it's a fifth move.

Well, again, it's a matter of opinion. I think that DP is better than XY, you don't, and that's cool. I certainly don't have time to go back and watch 200 episodes, so my positive memories about it will just have to suffice.

I would suggest, though, that if you didn't watch the Sinnoh League arc, you might want to give it a shot. Maybe you wouldn't like it, and your complaints apply to those episodes, I honestly don't remember. But who knows, maybe you'd enjoy it.

If you want to see cool battles just watch the few episodes that focus on them.

I would also recommend some of the Bonnie episodes. They're cute and have nice doses of suffering.

Other than that is not really worth it unless you genuinely like the anime for what it is and has always been.
